Fòs Feminista launches first-of-its-kind research that tracks the impact of the Dobbs decision has made on laws, policies, narratives, and movements across Colombia, India, Kenya and Nigeria.

One year ago, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned both Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pa. v. Casey, overturning almost 50 years of precedent that established the constitutional right to abortion in the United States. While the reversal of Roe v. Wade has far-reaching impacts on abortion access in the United States, the Dobbs decision does not impact the United States’ programming related to—or commitment to—advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in U.S. foreign assistance. Still, this decision impacts global abortion politics and emboldens regional and country-level attacks on bodily autonomy and abortion access.

Fòs Feminista in partnership with Asia Safe Abortion Partnership; CommonHealth, Education as a Vaccine; Generation Initiative for Women and Youth Network; Kenya Sex Workers Association; KMET; Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health; and the YP Foundation conducted research in Colombia, India, Kenya, and Nigeria on the impact of the Dobbs decision on laws, policies, narratives, and movements.
