Giselle Carino is the founding CEO of Fòs Feminista, an alliance of grassroots organizations from the Global South that share a commitment to ensuring universal access to sexual and reproductive health care; eliminating violence; providing sex education; and advancing gender and reproductive justice.
During her tenure at Fòs, Giselle created the organization’s approach to financial resilience, creating the social enterprise program to build partners’ capacities in developing and launching income-generating models to support their missions and long-term sustainability.
In 2017, Giselle founded INNOVA Health Supplies, a social enterprise formed by Fòs Feminista and a majority of equity partners from the Global South to solve persistent barriers in accessing a reliable supply of quality contraceptives and other reproductive health commodities – a business model that is helping to ensure uninterrupted access to reproductive health supplies. In 2021, Giselle created the Feminist Impact Fund as a vehicle for partners to access repayable financing toward growing their social enterprises that both expand access to sexual and reproductive health care and generate income to fuel the work, positioning the organization as a leader in feminist financing.
A political scientist from Argentina, Giselle is a high impact leader who for more than twenty years has sought to mobilize change for reproductive justice across the Global South by building connections, amplifying voices, and establishing new programs to more effectively meet the complex intersecting needs of women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Giselle is a former Board Member of Women’s Link Worldwide and the Safe Abortion Action Fund and founder of the Latin American Consortium Against Unsafe Abortion. She currently serves on the Criterion Institute’s Financial Imagination Advisory Board and is also a 2026 fellow of the New England Impact Investing Initiative.
