From Ban to Access, Fueled by Community
When Honduras ended its 14-year ban on morning after pills in 2023, Fòs Feminista partner ASHONPLAFA moved fast, educating communities, countering misinformation, and putting pills in people’s hands.
Fòs Feminista puts choice in the hands of women and girls by delivering sexual and reproductive health care where they live—through clinics and community-based care.
Fòs Feminista advances this right for everyone—especially marginalized women and girls—so they can exercise power over their bodies, health, and futures.
Alongside our partners as frontline care providers, we prioritize integrated services that reach those who are overlooked by formal health systems, especially adolescent girls. Together, we deliver:
In underserved rural communities in the Dominican Republic, where poverty, discrimination, and geography limit access to care, Fòs Feminista partner Profamilia brings services directly to communities through a mobile unit—offering Pap smears, contraceptives, referrals to clinics, and other sexual and reproductive health care.

Between 2023 and 2024, the Fòs Feminista Alliance delivered essential sexual and reproductive health services and education to millions, transforming rights on paper into real access. This included:
44.5M
sexual and reproductive health services, including 8.1M contraceptive services, 1.3M safe abortion services, and 1.3M services for sexual and gender-based violence.
Fòs Feminista meets women and girls where they are - in clinics, communities, and digital spaces – providing care and services to respond to urgent and diverse health needs with compassion, accessibility, and a deep commitment to feminist values.
1.24M
unintended pregnancies prevented as a result of contraceptive products distributed
This impact reflects the combined effect of contraceptive services delivered by Fòs Feminista partners, including counseling, clinical care, and support for self-managed care. As part of these services, 13 million contraceptive products, such as pills, injectables, implants, IUDs, and condoms were distributed.
7.9M
people reached with sexual and reproductive health care
Around four in five people reached with care and services were women and girls, one in four were young people under 25 years old, and one in three were living in a situation of vulnerability. This reach reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring sexual and reproductive health and rights for all. We also reached 1 million young people under 25 years old who participated in sex ed programs.
We expand access to contraception, abortion, and sexual and gender-based violence services, as well as comprehensive sex ed. Alongside our partners as frontline providers and community leaders, we break down barriers for those most often excluded, including adolescent girls, rural and poor populations, and people in humanitarian crises, through:
Community-based care is a lifeline for the most marginalized women and girls. Our partners reach people where they are through: mobile health clinics in remote areas; digital platforms and hotlines that offer information and counseling; community-based health promoters who provide counseling and contraceptives; and accompaniment (community-based support that offers information, reassurance, and follow-up) for self-managed care, including abortion.
Our clinical facilities are essential to providing a full range of sexual and reproductive health services that address complex needs and extend access at scale. We also partner with public health systems, private providers, and schools to improve quality, referrals, and sex ed, expanding access across entire communities.
Access means little without reliable supplies. Fòs Feminista secures contraceptives, abortion medications, menstrual products, and other essentials for women and girls, and works with governments to register, import, and distribute them so shelves never run empty.
“In communities where there are many times taboos or disinformation about these topics, an education like PODEROSXS empowers young people to express themselves freely, protect themselves, and to live their sexuality in a healthy and safe way.17-year-old José Oquendo Cartagena

In a country where only 13% of women get regular Pap smears, Fòs Feminista partner GRPA is working with the Ministry of Health and private sponsors to reach marginalized rural and Indigenous communities with information, testing and follow up.
The Ms. Rosy hotline operated by Fòs Feminista partner GIWYN reaches more than 100,000 people each year with evidence-based information on contraception, self-managed abortion, post-abortion care, and other issues.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, Fòs Feminista works with partners to ensure survivors of sexual and gender-based violence receive care while challenging the cultural, legal, and social barriers that fuel inequality. Our regional initiative combines education, services, legal reform, and community power to build a future free from violence.
