This Menstrual Health Day, Fòs Feminista and our partners joined forces under the Sang Pour Sang initiative—a global project aimed to challenge menstruation-based discrimination, improve access to menstrual products, and advocate for menstrual rights as an essential part of health and justice.
As part of our campaign, we launched a series of Instagram Lives titled “Bleed With Pride” to center the lived experiences, leadership, and knowledge of menstruating people across the Global South. Across three powerful conversations, our partners from Pakistan, the Philippines, and Nigeria shared insights on what it means to approach menstrual health with an intersectional lens.
These dialogues explored how menstrual dignity intersects with other critical rights, including disability justice, aging, and LGBTQ+ inclusion—highlighting the importance of moving beyond the notion that menstruation is only a women’s issue.
Throughout these sessions, speakers emphasized the need to create enabling environments, promote dignified experiences for all who menstruate, and center the realities of people of diverse genders. They challenged the deeply ingrained stigmas and structural barriers that prevent people from accessing the care and respect they deserve.
At Fòs Feminista, we believe menstrual health is not just a personal issue—it’s a justice issue, deeply tied to bodily autonomy, equality, and human rights. Together with our partners, we’re committed to amplifying the voices of those most affected and building a world where everyone can bleed with pride.
