Sex Ed Saves Futures

With sex ed, young people gain the confidence, rights, and resources to take control of their health and lives.

Sex ed opens doors. It equips young people to protect their health, challenge stigma, and shape their own lives.

Our sex ed programming makes this possible through:

  • Creating confidential places to ask questions and receive accurate, trusted information.
  • Comprehensive, rights-based lessons linking health to gender, autonomy, dignity, safety, and relationships.
  • Programs that meet young people where they are: in classrooms, neighborhoods, and online.
  • Connecting youth to stigma-free sexual and reproductive health care they can trust.
  • Building skills of parents and teachers to advocate for sex ed in schools and provide higher quality information to their children and students.

million young people in 28 countries received sex ed through programs grounded in rights, inclusion, and real-life relevance

Around half of them participated in school-based programs, while nearly as many accessed sex ed in out-of-school programs, reflecting our priority of reaching young people who don’t get a full sex ed curriculum in schools. We also leveraged digital platforms to reach f young people, helping close gaps in access.

Improving quality of sex ed

Our CSE Teaching Competencies Tool helps teachers, peer educators, and facilitators deliver inclusive, engaging sex ed.

Listening to and learning from young people

We measure programs by asking young people directly (using industry standard tools like the Net Promoter Score) if the sex ed they receive is useful, relevant, and respectful.

Generating data and evidence

With your support, we lead efforts to hold governments accountable—reporting on who’s left out and pressing for stronger commitments.

Growing a movement for sex ed

With partners in Bolivia, Cameroon, and Pakistan, we co-host a hub that shares tools, training, and resources worldwide.

Sex Ed Tool, Ecuador

A Peer-to-Peer Tookit

After accessing CEPAM-G’s sex ed training with a focus on preventing gender-based violence, a youth group in Ecuador created their own toolkit: “Youth Power: young people for gender equality”. This Toolkit is designed to show girls why abuse and violence should not be part of any relationship.

Fòs Feminista partner Incodesi trains Indigenous youth in Chiapas to guide their peers and has adapted AMAZE sex ed videos into comic books in Indigenous languages.

With Fundación Huésped, we train Scout leaders across Argentina to deliver virtual sex ed sessions to adolescents and young people.
