Advancing Comprehensive Sexuality Education Worldwide with AMAZE and Fòs Feminista: WestWind Awards 2026-2027

In August 2026, Fòs Feminista, in collaboration with the Global Center for Capacity Sharing on Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Youth Friendly Services, the WestWind Foundation, and AMAZE International, launched the latest global edition of the WestWind Awards, supporting innovative CSE initiatives worldwide that promote the use, creation, or adaptation of AMAZE videos.

We received proposals from a diversity of contexts, showcasing a wide range of strategies for reaching young people with accurate, rights-based sexuality education. A selection committee with representatives from all four convening bodies selected four initiatives to receive funding.

This year’s Call for Applications noted that preference would be given to proposals that link CSE with youth-friendly services — including those addressing menstrual health and dignity, HPV prevention, and contraceptive use — alongside a clear strategy for meaningful youth engagement and the integration of AMAZE videos. The four winners of the WestWind Awards 2026-2027 reflect exactly that priority.

And the winners are…

• In Paraguay, CEPEP will expand access to CSE for adolescents and young people ages 10–24 by combining AMAZE videos with Cri Cri Bot, an AI-powered virtual assistant. Psychology students from Universidad Columbia del Paraguay will provide responses to questions about mental health and violence prevention, with pathways connecting young people to CEPEP’s Family Clinics and public health services.
• In Haiti, Profamil will make AMAZE’s audiovisual resources linguistically and culturally accessible to Haitian youth, including those living in displacement camps. The project will adapt AMAZE videos for the Haitian context, strengthen the skills of trainers and peer educators, and integrate the new materials into CSE sessions nationwide.
• In Poland, FEDERA will expand access to reliable, evidence-based sexuality education by adapting AMAZE videos for the Polish context. These videos will be used in workshops and as classroom resources, supporting teachers delivering Poland’s new sexuality education curriculum.
• In Argentina, FUSA will connect sexuality education with youth-friendly health services focused on contraception, STI prevention, and menstrual health. A newly formed Youth Promoters Committee will help identify adolescents’ real needs and misinformation, forming a bridge with health professionals and families.

We’re proud to celebrate the selection of these partners and will support them throughout implementation, with space to share experiences and learning with other Fòs Feminista Alliance partners.

CSE remains under attack by anti-rights groups that spread misinformation and target those who provide it. Initiatives like these — reaching adolescents and youth in highly diverse settings, and engaging families and health professionals as key allies along the way — show what’s possible when partners are trusted and resourced.

Avanzando la Educación Integral en Sexualidad en el mundo con AMAZE y Fòs Feminista: Premios WestWind 2026-2027

En agosto de 2026, Fòs Feminista, en colaboración con el Global Center for Capacity Sharing on Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Youth Friendly Services, la Fundación WestWind y AMAZE International, lanzó la más reciente edición global de los Premios WestWind, que apoya iniciativas innovadoras de ESI en todo el mundo que promueven el uso, la creación o la adaptación de videos de AMAZE.

Recibimos propuestas de una diversidad de contextos, con una amplia variedad de estrategias para llegar a las juventudes con información precisa y basada en derechos. Un comité de selección con representantes de las cuatro instituciones convocantes eligió cuatro iniciativas ganadoras.

La Convocatoria de este año señaló que se daría preferencia a las propuestas que vincularan la ESI con servicios amigables para jóvenes —incluyendo aquellas enfocadas en salud y dignidad menstrual, prevención del VPH y uso de anticonceptivos— junto con una estrategia clara de participación significativa de las juventudes y la integración de los videos de AMAZE. Las cuatro ganadoras de los Premios WestWind 2026-2027 reflejan exactamente esa prioridad.

Y las ganadoras son…

• En Paraguay, CEPEP ampliará el acceso de adolescentes y jóvenes de 10 a 24 años a la ESI combinando los videos de AMAZE con Cri Cri Bot, un asistente virtual con inteligencia artificial. Estudiantes de Psicología de la Universidad Columbia del Paraguay responderán consultas sobre salud mental y prevención de violencias, con rutas de derivación hacia las Clínicas de la Familia del CEPEP y servicios públicos.
• En Haití, Profamil hará que los recursos audiovisuales de AMAZE sean lingüística y culturalmente accesibles para las juventudes haitianas, incluidas aquellas que viven en campamentos de desplazamiento. El proyecto adaptará los videos de AMAZE al contexto haitiano, fortalecerá las capacidades de formadores y educadores pares, e integrará el nuevo material en sesiones de ESI en todo el país.
• En Polonia, FEDERA ampliará el acceso a educación sexual confiable y basada en evidencia adaptando videos de AMAZE al contexto polaco. Estos videos se usarán en talleres y como recursos de aula, apoyando a docentes que imparten la nueva asignatura de educación sexual de Polonia.
• En Argentina, FUSA articulará la educación sexual con servicios de salud amigables enfocados en anticoncepción, prevención de ITS y salud menstrual. Un nuevo Comité de Jóvenes Promotores ayudará a identificar necesidades reales y desinformación entre adolescentes, funcionando como puente con profesionales de la salud y familias.

Nos enorgullece celebrar la selección de estas socias y les brindaremos apoyo durante la implementación de sus proyectos, con espacio para compartir experiencias y aprendizajes con otras socias de la Alianza Fòs Feminista.

La ESI sigue bajo ataque por parte de grupos antiderechos que difunden desinformación y persiguen a quienes la brindan. Iniciativas como estas —que llegan a adolescentes y jóvenes en contextos sumamente diversos, e involucran a familias y profesionales de la salud como aliados clave en el camino— muestran lo que es posible cuando las organizaciones socias cuentan con confianza y recursos.
