Fòs Feminista announced commitments to uphold sexual and reproductive rights in the Global South during the 2021 Generation Equality Forum.
Last year, in 2021, activists, governments, donors, and civil society organizations from across the world marked twenty-five years of the landmark Beijing Platform of Action and renewed our strong commitment to women’s rights and gender equality at the Generation Equality Forum. It was during this forum that the Action Coalition on Bodily Autonomy and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) was formed along with five other Action Coalitions to drive key actions outlined in the Global Acceleration Plan for Gender Equality.
As leader of the Action Coalition on Bodily Autonomy and SRHR, Fòs Feminista made commitments in three areas: increasing access to safe abortion, expanding comprehensive sexuality education, and strengthening girls’, women’s and feminist organizations and networks to promote and protect bodily autonomy and SRHR.
