Jabar comes from a multi-cultural background, which includes Indian, Spanish, Irish, and American roots. Raised in the Dominican Republic, he was attuned to the needs of marginalized communities, such as Haitians living in the Dominican Republic, people living in conditions of poverty, and women impacted by harmful gender norms. He joined the Fòs Feminista Board of Directors in 2020. He currently chairs the Audit & Risk Intelligence Committee and has been a member of the Resource Mobilization Committee since 2020.
Jabar is President of Scotiabank Colpatria in Colombia, where he is responsible for the growth and strategic direction of Scotiabank Colpatriain Colombia. Since joining Scotiabank in 2009, Jabar has progressed through various positions in commercial banking, corporate banking, and corporate finance, across multiple jurisdictions. Jabar Singh has extensive experience in Corporate, Investment, Commercial, and Markets Banking at Scotiabank, playing strategic leadership roles in different countries such as Canada, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Chile.
Jabar holds a Master of International Commerce from l’Universite Paris-Sorbonne, a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Santo Domingo, and an associate degree in international business from the State University of New York.
