Susan Nitze

Susan is a longtime civic leader and philanthropist who believes that healthy women and girls are the cornerstone of a vibrant society. She is a lifelong advocate for reproductive health and rights and ensuring that women and girls have the power to make choices about their bodies and, ultimately, their futures.  

Since 2022, Susan has served as Co-Chair of the Fòs Feminista Leadership Council alongside Alexander Sanger. She served as a Board member of the International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC) for 25 years and was a part of the formation of the Fòs Feminista Alliance in 2021.  

In addition to her support of Fòs Feminista, Susan supports many other arts, education, and social justice organizations as a volunteer and donor. Susan served on the board of the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York for more than 20 years, including in her current role as president emerita. She also served on a Women’s Advisory Council for U.S. Foreign Policy, Women for the Council on Foreign Relations, and as a committee member of Network 20/20, which helps educate the next generation of foreign policy leaders in the U.S. She is the founding member of the Volunteer Council of the New York Philharmonic and a trustee emerita of both the American Academy in Rome and the Groton School in Massachusetts.
