Sandra had many difficulties raising her 13-year-old daughter, Luc\u00eda. They didn't have a good relationship and Sandra could not understand her daughter\u2019s aggressive behavior, isolation, and sadness. A friend told her to take Luc\u00eda to CEPAM-G<\/a> \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 qu'ils ont aid\u00e9 de nombreuses femmes qu'elle conna\u00eet.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nC'est en janvier 2023 que Sandra a demand\u00e9 de l'aide \u00e0 l'\u00e9quipe de conseillers du CEPAM-G, une organisation qui soutient les survivants de violences bas\u00e9es sur le genre depuis plus de trente ans.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nThe psychologist detected that Luc\u00eda had been a victim of sexual abuse by her paternal grandfather two years ago. Sandra was shocked to hear that her daughter had been going through this all alone, but she was relieved to finally understand the reasons behind her daughter's behaviors. Sandra knew that what happened to her daughter was rape and it must be punished. She decided to accompany her daughter, and they both continued with psychological help. CEPAM-G\u2019s team activated measures according to the processes of care and legal advice.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nTout au long de ce processus, Sandra a remarqu\u00e9 un changement significatif dans le comportement de Luc\u00eda. Elle n'\u00e9tait plus suicidaire et ses relations avec Sandra et ses fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs s'\u00e9taient am\u00e9lior\u00e9es. Sandra n'a jamais bl\u00e2m\u00e9 sa fille pour ce qui s'\u00e9tait pass\u00e9, mais elle comprend pourquoi sa fille a pu penser ainsi. Maintenant que Sandra savait ce qui s'\u00e9tait pass\u00e9, elle a pu \u00e9tablir une relation de confiance avec sa fille.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nLuc\u00eda's father never appeared, leaving Sandra to handle this process alone. Sandra knew that she didn't want her daughter's paternal grandfather to rape other people, particularly young girls. She wants to ensure that justice is served for her daughter and for the other girls who might be victims of her daughter's grandfather.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nThrough the accompaniment of the team, Sandra and Luc\u00eda are learning to overcome this hard experience and relate better. They have reconciled their relationship and they are now able to enjoy each other's company and even have fun together, which was not possible before.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nSandra is grateful for the support she received from CEPAM-G and is committed to being there for her daughter through this difficult time.
