What is a donor-advised fund (DAF)?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is an investment account for charitable giving. You can contribute cash, securities, or other assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to causes you care about—on your schedule. You can make one-time or recurring gifts to one or more charities, all from a single account.
How do donor-advised funds work?
You can set up a DAF through your financial institution or a community foundation. Once established, you contribute assets to the fund and recommend donations to your chosen charities. For help starting a DAF, speak with your financial advisor.
