By proactively listening to feminist collectives and movements and by adopting concrete political &amp; financial commitments, G7 leaders can achieve tangible, lasting, and transformative change in the lives of women, girls, and persons of diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) in 2023 and beyond.\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"color: #e85f44;\"><b>COMUNICADO DE LOS L\u00cdDERES DEL G7 EN HIROSHIMA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aspectos de la apreciaci\u00f3n:<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">F\u00f2s Feminista appreciates the repeated references to \"gender transformative change\" and \"substantial transformation of our societies\" throughout this year\u2019s Leader's Communique (the Communique). The reality is that women, girls, and gender-diverse people experience multiple and intersecting forms of violence and discrimination on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, disability, income status, age, migration status, HIV or health status, etc., and often in the hands of systems of oppression intentionally created to perpetuate harm against marginalized communities.\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To truly achieve \"gender transformative change,\" G7 leaders have the responsibility to acknowledge their (continued) contributions to inequities and must challenge themselves to actively disrupt systems of oppression.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notably, \"2023 is the halfway point to achieve SDGs.\" Yet no G7 has achieved gender equality or even ranks in the top 15 of<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.equalmeasures2030.org\/story\/no-g7-country-made-fast-progress-on-gender-equality-in-recent-years-heres-how-experts-think-they-should-flip-the-script\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the Equal Measures 2030's SDG Gender Index<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We appreciate the G7 leaders acknowledging this halfway point amidst \"the rollback of women's and girls' rights\" and their condemnation of \"all violations and abuses of human rights and fundamental freedoms for women and girls and LGBTQIA+ people around the world.\"\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La inminente Cumbre de los ODS, que se celebrar\u00e1 entre el 19 y el 20 de septiembre de 2023, supone el momento \u00f3ptimo para que los l\u00edderes del G7 no solo reviertan los retrocesos en el progreso de los derechos sexuales y reproductivos, sino que catalicen y refuercen su compromiso con los ODS, en particular con las metas 3.7 y 5.6, que se comprometen espec\u00edficamente a lograr el acceso universal a los servicios de salud sexual y reproductiva y los derechos reproductivos:\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oportunidades de crecimiento:<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aunque F\u00f2s Feminista acoge con satisfacci\u00f3n algunos aspectos del Comunicado de los L\u00edderes, seguimos desanimadas por las evidentes lagunas y las oportunidades perdidas a la hora de crear compromisos concretos y garantizar la financiaci\u00f3n y los planes de implementaci\u00f3n para abordar de manera proactiva la p\u00e9rdida de 30 a\u00f1os de avances en materia de igualdad de g\u00e9nero.\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For instance, under the commitment to \"advancing and defending gender equality and the rights of women and girls in all their diversity, at home and abroad\" by \"working together to thwart attempts to undermine and reverse hard-won progress in this area'' there is no mention to LGBTQI+ people or follow up to <\/span><b><i>c\u00f3mo<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Esto se lograr\u00e1. Para revertir el retroceso, los l\u00edderes del G7 deben ir m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la ret\u00f3rica y crear un plan de acci\u00f3n para evaluar y desarmar los da\u00f1os causados por los movimientos contrarios a los derechos, al g\u00e9nero y a la democracia.\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La reciente aprobaci\u00f3n de la Ley contra la Homosexualidad en Uganda es solo un lamentable ejemplo del movimiento contra los derechos. Of the social services mentioned, such as parental leave and childcare support, not all are guaranteed within the G7 countries \u2013 a striking irony. Women and girls carry the lion's share of unpaid care and domestic work, restricting their ability to access comprehensive SRH services easily. Furthermore, no guaranteed paid parental leave means birthing parents lack the economic security that's often required to adequately take time off to heal from birth, bond with their child(ren), and nurture their families.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We urge the leaders to increase funding for social infrastructure and gender-transformative health and care services by an additional 2% of GDP to improve the quality of services, reduce women's disproportionate unpaid care loads and provide more decent work in sectors dominated by women. Furthermore, any social protections rendered by the state must include informal sector workers like sex workers, undocumented and stateless people, and all at grave risk of losing their livelihoods and falling deeper into poverty without any support.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"color: #e85f44;\"><b>COMUNICADO DE LOS MINISTROS DE SALUD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within the Health Ministers Communique, F\u00f2s Feminista is pleased to see universal health coverage (UHC) listed as one of the three priority areas, with sexual and reproductive health services noted as \"an essential part of UHC.\" If anything, COVID-19 revealed the vital need for UHC to transcend borders to ensure no one is left behind or denied access to essential healthcare services. Furthermore, as a cornerstone in UHC, SRHR remains under threat in the face of attempted rollbacks. We applaud the G7 leaders' commitment to advocating \"for the inclusion of the comprehensive SRH services as an essential part of UHC at the PHC level,\u201d and we are pleased to see the creation of the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mhlw.go.jp\/content\/10500000\/001096405.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Plan global del G7 para la agenda de acci\u00f3n sobre la cobertura sanitaria universal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, un anexo que puede servir como hoja de ruta para hacer realidad la cobertura sanitaria universal. Ante los crecientes y constantes ataques contra nuestros cuerpos, F\u00f2s Feminista hubiera deseado que las ministras de G\u00e9nero establecieran compromisos, acciones y recursos audaces y concretos que pudieran llevar adelante.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, while we welcome the debut of \"<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.g7hiroshima.go.jp\/documents\/pdf\/session2_01_en.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promoci\u00f3n de la perspectiva de g\u00e9nero mediante el enfoque nexo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (The Nexus),\" a factsheet intended to bridge policies relevant to gender in all political\/security, economic and social dimensions, we fear the Nexus approach lacks concrete commitments, including financial commitments, and tangible, targeted actions. In essence, the Nexus remains ambiguous, without direction, and mostly underpins current commitments and policies \u2013 without any evidence of progress\u2013missing the opportunity to galvanize commitments even further to advance gender equality.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por \u00faltimo, esperamos novedades sobre el Panel de Control de la Brecha de G\u00e9nero del G7, un mecanismo de rendici\u00f3n de cuentas publicado bajo la presidencia alemana en 2022 para garantizar la transparencia, la rendici\u00f3n de cuentas y el impacto de los compromisos del G7. The following are the areas of relevance identified by F\u00f2s Feminista where efforts should be targeted to realize \"substantial transformation\":\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aumentar la financiaci\u00f3n directa a las organizaciones feministas y de derechos de las mujeres que operan en pa\u00edses\/regiones que reciben ayuda exterior.<\/span>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De acuerdo con el compromiso de la administradora de USAID, Samantha Power, de dedicar 251 TP3T de fondos para programas a socios locales para el a\u00f1o fiscal 2025, garantizar que al menos 201 TP3T de estos fondos se destinen a organizaciones feministas y de derechos de las mujeres.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promover el acceso universal y la financiaci\u00f3n de servicios de salud integrales, accesibles, asequibles y de buena calidad, incluidos los servicios de salud sexual y reproductiva, para las mujeres, las ni\u00f1as y las personas de g\u00e9nero diverso.
