Sandra had many difficulties raising her 13-year-old daughter, Luc\u00eda. They didn't have a good relationship and Sandra could not understand her daughter\u2019s aggressive behavior, isolation, and sadness. A friend told her to take Luc\u00eda to CEPAM-G<\/a> dado que han ayudado a muchas mujeres que ella conoce.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nFue en enero de 2023 cuando Sandra busc\u00f3 ayuda del equipo de asesoramiento de CEPAM-G, una organizaci\u00f3n que lleva m\u00e1s de tres d\u00e9cadas apoyando a las sobrevivientes de la violencia de g\u00e9nero.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nThe psychologist detected that Luc\u00eda had been a victim of sexual abuse by her paternal grandfather two years ago. Sandra was shocked to hear that her daughter had been going through this all alone, but she was relieved to finally understand the reasons behind her daughter's behaviors. Sandra knew that what happened to her daughter was rape and it must be punished. She decided to accompany her daughter, and they both continued with psychological help. CEPAM-G\u2019s team activated measures according to the processes of care and legal advice.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nA lo largo de este proceso, Sandra not\u00f3 un cambio significativo en el comportamiento de Luc\u00eda. Ya no ten\u00eda tendencias suicidas y su relaci\u00f3n con Sandra y sus hermanos hab\u00eda mejorado. Sandra nunca hab\u00eda culpado a su hija por lo que hab\u00eda sucedido, pero entend\u00eda por qu\u00e9 su hija podr\u00eda haber pensado eso. Ahora que Sandra sab\u00eda lo que hab\u00eda sucedido, pudo construir una relaci\u00f3n de confianza con su hija.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nLuc\u00eda's father never appeared, leaving Sandra to handle this process alone. Sandra knew that she didn't want her daughter's paternal grandfather to rape other people, particularly young girls. She wants to ensure that justice is served for her daughter and for the other girls who might be victims of her daughter's grandfather.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nThrough the accompaniment of the team, Sandra and Luc\u00eda are learning to overcome this hard experience and relate better. They have reconciled their relationship and they are now able to enjoy each other's company and even have fun together, which was not possible before.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nSandra is grateful for the support she received from CEPAM-G and is committed to being there for her daughter through this difficult time. She knows that it won't be easy, but with their continued effort, they can overcome this hard experience and grow stronger as a family. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n\nAl igual que Sandra, decenas de mujeres y ni\u00f1as han recibido apoyo a trav\u00e9s del proyecto Futuros Feministas Libres de Violencia, implementado por F\u00f2s Feminista y sus socios en diferentes pa\u00edses de Am\u00e9rica Latina y financiado por Global Affairs Canada.
